Storage Pricing Templates

Creating pricing templates for Storage jobs is similar to creating pricing templates for towing jobs, although the tabs available will change based on the Service Offering showing on the pricing parameters tabs. Created storage templates will appear with yellow highlighting after they are saved. Towing/service templates will remain white.

First, think about the types of prices your company charges for cash jobs vs. impounding for the local or state police, vs. municipalities which have their own fee structures in addition to an impound charge by your company. Do you charge differently for inside vs. outside storage, cars, trucks or tractors?

If so, each different pricing structure must have its own pricing template to reflect this. If more accounts can share pricing templates, the fewer templates will need to be created. The various tabs available in the pricing templates enable tracking charges collected and that need to be paid to a third party.

It is not necessary to use every tab unless necessary for your pricing structure. For example, the Discounts tab isn't needed unless you offer discounts to certain customers, for example. Basic pricing can be created, then changed and re-saved using the “Save as a new template” button to reflect nuances in pricing between accounts.

If your company charges a “yard” or “administrative” fee or fees for sending lien letters, these can be defined under the “Company storage fees” tab.

While the tab for “Item templates” is shown in the pricing templates area, this tab is used exclusively on towing/service extras (which we call “items” to differentiate from the “extras” tab for storage). Item templates can be usage based and thus are more complex than the flat rate charges available as “Extras” in the section 02_extras. Only charges created on the Extras menu will be available to the lot management pricing screen, and Extras will have to be created for each storage pricing template.

The diagrams below explain the the function for each tab in terms of impact on storage pricing.

If you need templates for any Accounts with additional fees to be distributed to an agency, you can create (or rename and reuse another template with similar pricing structures to then modify).

Upcharges & Discounts tabs

Your company has the ability to add up to two user-defined upcharges and two user-defined discounts to a template, as needed for an Account. RangerSST's pricing templates can accommodate extremely detailed pricing structures with additional optional tabs.
