This is an old revision of the document!
This document describes installation and setup of XCharge Mobile, the credit card processing application from OpenEdge (formerly Accelerated Payment Technology).

On your mobile device, download XCharge Mobile from the Google Play Store. Either:
The app is called XCharge Mobile from OpenEdge
Download the free app to the device
First, be sure to Uninstall any versions of the Ranger mobile app (CommLInk) currently on the device (this is essential to avoid database corruption).
Then with the browser on the device, go to http://www.rangersst.com/mobile/android/
If you haven't already, bookmark this page for future use.
Click on “Other downloads and special test builds” at the bottom of the page
Click on V3.00 (or higher) and the download will begin
When the download is complete, install the app (Tow2.apk), open the app, and log-in (you will need valid driver and truck numbers)
After successful login, go to the Main Menu in CommLink and choose “Settings”. In “Settings”, you'll see the three card card options that we'll configure next.
In Settings, select “Card Entry”.
In Settings, select “Card Processor”. Confirm the default configuration – “X-Charge Mobile and X-Web” – is selected.
In Settings, select “Card Setup”. Then select “Setup X-Charge Mobile”. This will open the “Swiper Setup” screen in XCharge Mobile.
The device should now be ready - Consider creating a test job in Ranger, assigning it to the device (driver/truck). At ARRIVED, run a credit card authorization with your own credit card for a nominal amount. The authorization process will create a “token” that relates the CC number to the transaction in Ranger. (To be PCI compliant, credit card numbers are only stored in the X-Charge vault; NO CC numbers are stored in Ranger; further, NO credit card numbers should be entered into Ranger note fields. This is an invitation to hackers - jeopardizing the operation of the system.)
You will also want to be sure you have your username and password for the X-Charge Web Portal in a secure, convenient location.
